The roots of the The Black Horse Festival can be traced back 44 years!

The Black Horse Folk Club was a popular Saturday night event from as far back as 1963 - and continued for many years until 1981. Many years later when the first reunion was organised, so many people turned up, the pub could not cope! Singers, performers, friends and the public mingled in the chaos inside and outside the building. None of us realised how popular this reunion would be. The following year a marquee was hired and an entry fee was charged to cover the cost of the marquee.

In 1992, we had our first four day event. It was a huge success! Over a thousand people came throughout that weekend. During 1993, 1994 and 1995, the festival grew, providing a weekend of various music forms in a convivial and easily accessible atmosphere.

In May 2007, we expect many thousands of people will visit the Festival over the four days, and enjoy top bands and performers from the UK - and around the World! So do make sure you book early to avoid waiting in line for a ticket!!
